How to sell at Auction
Complimentary Appraisal Service
We offer a complimentary appraisal service for items that you may be considering selling.
- Please call us on 01730 233933 to arrange a convenient time to bring the items to the saleroom
- If the items are too bulky to transport please send images by post or email them to us at email@example.com. If you are local you may also request a free home visit
The Auctioneer will advise you of auction estimates and suggest reserves where appropriate.
Submitting the items for sale
If you wish to sell, we will arrange collection of the item(s) and issue you with a receipt. Please note that there is a 3% charge on the sale price for the loss and damage warranty that protects your item(s) whilst in our care. This is included in our transparent fees. Your items will be photographed and catalogued, following which we will send you a pre-sale advice confirming any estimates and reserves that have been agreed.
To promote the sale of the item(s), they will appear on our website and in our our catalogues, which are available on the-saleroom.com and easyliveauction.com. Our auctions are advertised widely and we have a large database of potential buyers to whom your items will also be marketed. In addition to taking bids in traditional fashion in the room and offering commission and telephone bidding, many of our bidders are online ensuring we reach collectors from all over the world.
After the Auction:
How can I find out if my item sold at auction?
To find out if your item has been sold, visit the Results page after the sale, which will show the hammer price of each lot.
How will I be paid for my items?
A cheque will be sent four weeks after the successful sale of your item(s) at auction. Please note that the seller pays a percentage of the final hammer price (Vendors Commission).
All items are subject to an additional 3% Loss and Damage Warranty Fee.
What happens if my item is unsold?
Unsold Items should be collected within 5 working days of the auction, unless they are to be re-entered in the following auction at a reduced reserve (at the auctioneer's discretion and with your agreement.)
